About Adtrans Inc
First Purpose Built Mobile Billboard
Adtrans Inc, has been in service under various names over the last 24 years. Our history begins in 1985 in New York City with Jim Foley and Neal Weed, who owned catering trucks for construction sites and sought to expand the advertising that was placed on the trucks. With the help of Neal's son Brian Armstrong they designed the first purpose built mobile billboard. With the success of this first truck Neal Weed and Jim Foley decided to begin operations of the very first Mobile Advertising company, Prestige Panels Inc. The company was very successful throughout the late 1980's and in 1990 Jim Foley sold his shares in the company to Neal Weed and with this Mobile Advertising Promotions was created.
'Mobile Advertising Promotions' Truck
Neal Weed aquired 35 Mobile Billboards from Prestige Panels. Brian Armstrong had been incharge of maintenance and the operations of the fleet and had designed the first truck built and in 1990 Brian told his father that he wanted to branch out and start his own company. Neal gave his son the newest truck in his fleet, a single Mitsubishi Fuso mobile billboard truck, and with this Anytime Anywhere Outdoor was born. Brian and his wife Shannon, who had been selling advertising space for Neal Weed before getting married, began their company with a single truck and a small sum of money to get them off the ground. Starting off in Chicago and with the help of Neal the company began to take off.
Trucks Built by AAO in 2000
By 1995 Anytime Anywhere Outdoor had become one of the most successful mobile billboard companies in the United States. In this year Brian bought out his father’s company and helped set up his retirement. After this deal Anytime Anywhere Outdoor had become the largest Mobile Outdoor provider in the country with a total of 28 units. The "Dot Com Boom" was one of the best times for the company and it flourished in the blooming economy of the late 1990's. In 2000 AAO built 10 new trucks and phased out the older trucks leaving only 10 of them in service. In 2005 after changing the company name to Adtrans Inc 10 more vehicles were built and the rest of the old fleet was moved out of service. Adtrans Inc today has moved with and led the field in Mobile Billboards.
